Some things to know about me...
I have a Master’s of Science in Biology (August 2012) and a Masters of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Science (August 2017).
I am also one class away from a Certificate in Instructional Design and Technology... just have to make myself go back for one more semester! (Stay in school kids!!)
I was recently published (2015) in the Journal of Aquatic Animal Health as the senior author in my first ever scientific journal communication, for research done on Channel Catfish, Ictalurus punctatus, during my graduate thesis, which can be viewed here (shameless plug :D), and I am very excited about it!
I am a science teacher, and am currently teaching Dual Enrollment Anatomy & Physiology, Honors Anatomy, and Traditional Anatomy at Houston. I am also an adjunct for the Department of Natural Sciences at Southwest Tennessee Community College and occasionally I adjunct for the University of Memphis as well. I also co-sponsor the GSA "Pride" Club with Mrs. Minton.
Furthermore, I am a runner, and although I have completed several half marathons, the full marathon has conquered me thus far- I'm going to keep trying! I also like to paint (acrylics) and read (#NotaMuggle), and although I have no human children of my own, my husband and I are "dog-parents" of three: Baxter, Jake, and Louix. You can see their cute faces below. Lastly, the picture above is from when I went Skydiving, and I hope to eventually obtain my certification!
I am very pleased to have met you all, and look forward to a great year at Houston.
GO MUSTANGS!!
